Learning roller skating and ice skating

It is very important for you to learn to balance on skates and that is the first lesson you should learn. Balancing techniques are a bit different between wheels and ice blades.

The ground’s smoothness can vary from a slippery rink to heavy friction. Actually you need a lot of strength in pushing the skates.

The more you practise the better you can skate. Many people think it is much easier to roller blade than ice skate as there is more resistance and there are fewer chances to slide and slip.

In the case of ice skating, it is a more challenging task as there are greater chances of slipping. The ice out there is smoother and you need to balance perfectly. You need to adjust your speed and weight from time to time. If at any point of time you have gained some speed, it becomes very hard to stop suddenly on the ice, so it is just as important to learn how to stop.  Be aware of the conditions of the rink while you are skating.

If you are really serious about roller skating or ice skating, you should learn it from a professional skater.
