Lots of fun for kids at Playday in Knowsley
August 28, 2008
When you think of summer holidays, ice skating might not be the first thing on your mind. However, for the youngsters in Knowsley, this summer was the perfect chance to get on their ice skates and get skating on the ice rink.
Hundreds of kids turned up at the play day in Knowsley and took part in various activities. There were a lot of activities that the kids could try for the first time. The event was held as a part of the national Playday at the King George V fields in Huyton.
Many youngsters were excited and thrilled to try ice skating for the first time. Dave Smithson, the Deputy Mayor of Knowsley attended the event and said that the theme of this year’s Playday was ‘Give Us a Go’. This is the reason why the event had some really new and unusual activities that no one would expect at a summer time event.
The Mayor himself ended up giving it a go at the ice skating along with the children. The entire idea behind having a national Playday is to encourage the children to go out and try some new activities that would improve their confidence, creativity and imagination. The kids can get to try something that they have never imagined before at such events.
