Description & Features

As an affordable alternative to the AR-1, the Antik MG-2 roller skate boot features many qualities made for competitive roller derby: 3/4" uppers for ankle support, genuine suede leather, integrated shock-absorbing heels, lacing loops in the back for extra heel security, rubber foam tongue lining to relieve pressure on the top of the foot, Dri-Lex interior lining, and vulcanized rubber soles.

Antik boots are also made standard with a split D/B last. That means the width of the boot is a D (medium) and the width of the heel is a B (narrow). This combination is great for women because the more narrow heel design is better suited for women's feet, which tend to be more narrow in the heel. Having a heel that fits properly is essential to skate fit, as having your heels move around in your skates greatly reduces your control.

The Antik MG-2 complete skate package comes standard mounted with PowerDyne Triton cast aluminum plates, Kwik ABEC-7 bearings for a smooth roll and Gumball brand toe stops.

Gumball toestops are designed and made specifically with roller derby in mind. Made with all natural rubber and an aluminum stem (to reduce weight). Gumball Toe Stops have the perfect balance of grip and durability necessary for quick stops and fast starts.

PowerDyne Triton Built for intermediate to advancing skaters. High pressure diecast aluminum with a wide foot plate design for added stability. The Triton also features a right/left plate design with an off-set toe stop and polished aluminum trucks. Accepts adjustable toe stop or jam plugs.

Antik Skate Boots are hand-made by craftsmen with decades of boot production experience, who spare no expense, and only use the highest quality materials to ensure comfort, performance, and durability. Antik Skate Boots are made in the USA to the exact specifications and requirements necessary for today’s modern day roller derby skaters.

Molding these skates

It says you can heat mold the boots, how do you do that?

Let the hair dryer run on hot until it gets pretty warm. Use it on the "hot spot" where it is hurting your foot the most. Make sure you do not put it directly on it, move your hand in a circular motion. Once it is warm enough, put your foot back in and lace them like you normally would if you were going to skate.
