Founded by Mark Gonzales in 1989, Blind is a skateboard company that came out of Steve Rocco's World Industries distribution company. Blind over the years have had some of the biggest names in the sport riding for them and is well respected worldwide. Blind have also released Eternal Life Skateboard Decks which they say are guaranteed not to break. The company's logo for many years was a stylized grim reaper.
The name "Blind" came out of Gonzale's former sponsorship, Vision Skateboards. Upon launch Jason Lee joining Blind from World Industries to support the brand and team as it's second pro rider. Alongside him were joined Rudy Johnson and Guy Mariano, from other pro teams, and signature decks were designed and released.Blind's decks are made of 8 ply maple and epoxy resin, their skateboard decks are one step above traditional 7 ply boards. Their designs featuring warning signs, creatures and food give their decks and completes real personality. Blind released their first industry shaking skate video in 1991, featuring Gonzales, Mariano, Richter, Lee, and Johnson, it's now considered one of the most important skateboard videos ever made for the development of the sport.
