What is a Stunt Scooter?

A stunt scooter is designed specifically to withstand a lot of punishment. You can do jumps, tricks and stunts on it,ﾠand use it atﾠa skate park.

Although no scooter is covered under warranty for use at a skate park (as the stress put on the item would be limitless), some help is still offered if a part breaks within the first 3 months of purchase.ﾠGenerally, the manufacturer will not replace entire scooters that become faulty or damaged, but will cover replacement components. 

Extreme scooters generally don't feature a folding mechanism or adjustable handlebar height (as seen on some models for young kids) as it weakens the strength of the setup. Instead, they generally have a one-piece handlebar which is much stronger. They usually need to be assembled by placing the handlebars onto the stem of the fork and tightening the clamp which holds both parts together.

Extreme scootersﾠalso tend to be heavier than a folding scooter. This is because parts areﾠreinforced for strength, or more parts are present to strengthen the entire build. However, with stunt scooters becoming more technologically advanced as time goes on, stunt scooters are getting lighter (you want them to be easy to lift and jump on, after all). It's definitely worth comparing scooters (the total weight should be on the product description) to make sure that what you're buying isn't heavier than necessary. Abut 4.5kg is probably average, with some models inching towards a very desirable 3.5kg. 

Extreme scooters are frequentlyﾠmore expensive than a recreational scooter. Prices can vary from £65 - £250 , but it's not money for nothing. You're paying for a scooter that's more robust than the norm and ready for a pounding!
