Birdhouse Skateboards

Birdhouse Skateboards (originally known Birdhouse Projects) was launched in 1992 by ex-Powell Peralta pros Tony Hawk and Per Welinder. Welinder originally asked Powell Peralta pro skateboarder Lance Mountain to join him, however it was Tony Hawk, that ended up being his 50-50 partner. After the boom of the 80s with Skateboarding, the sport was now on the decline and the future of the industry looked pretty bleak. The skateboarders decided they both wanted to stay involved in the sport and see if they could regrow it back to it's glory days. Birdhouse was founded on the principle that if you love something enough, you support it and help it as best you can. They brought fresh designs, decks and technology to the sport through Birdhouse projects. 24 years down the line, Birdhouse Skateboards are still going strong and continue to support and nurture the sport.

Birdhouse Skateboards' team has included some of the most famous names in the sport over the years. Aside from Tony Hawk, the team has also included names such as Steve Berra, Willy Santos, Andrew Reynolds, Brian Sumner and Steve Nesser. The team toured worldwide and brought a big new following to Birdhouse. With the release of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series of games, the company's reputation grew even further as the sport itself became more and more popular.

Birdhouse produce a range of skateboards for riders of all abilities. The Birdhouse Stage 1 is one of the best entry level skateboards money can buy and are perfect for someone looking to get into the sport. This board comes with softer wheels than those used by pros, which results in a more forgiving ride plus additional grip. Birdhouse Stage 1 skateboards come in a wide range of different designs.

At the other end of the scale is the Birdhouse Stage 3 skateboard. This board is perfect for anyone, whether you are a novice or a seasoned skateboarder. The deck is very strong and durable, being constructed from 7-ply Canadian maple wood and come with some of the hardest wheels on the market, ideal for both park and street skaters.  As with the Stage 1 boards, Birdhouse Stage 3 come in a range of different styles and designs so you are bound to find one to suit you.

Birdhouse Skateboards and Decks have an excellent reputation for quality, and delivering industry leading designs as well as technology in their Canadian maple wood decks.
