Many junior models are adjustable across 3–4 full sizes. A button or sliding mechanism at the toe allows parents to extend the boot as a child’s foot grows, making the skates economical over multiple seasons.

Wheels are usually 72–80 mm with a durometer around 82A, providing grip and shock absorption. Bearings are often ABEC-5 or ABEC-7, offering smooth rolling at moderate speeds. These components suit recreational and fitness skating.
