Ethic DTC Parts Guide – Decks, Bars & Forks Explained

Introduction: Why Ethic DTC Parts?

Since 2007, Skates.co.uk has helped riders build the scooters they actually want to ride, and few brands make that easier than Ethic DTC. Founded in France in 2012 by pro rider and designer Kevin Demay, Ethic (“Designed to Create”) built its name on parts that are unusually light, strong and clean-looking, sold at prices that don't punish you for wanting quality. This guide walks through Ethic's three core part categories, decks, bars and forks, so you can pick the right combination for your size, style and budget.

Ethic Decks

Ethic's decks are the heart of the range. They're CNC-machined from aluminium, run a flat, grind-friendly underside, and are consistently among the lightest decks at each size. There are four families to know about, ordered roughly from most park-focused to most street-focused.

Ethic Erawan V2

The Erawan V2 is Ethic's most popular deck and the natural starting point for park and all-round riders. It's light, responsive and forgiving, which makes it ideal for spins, whips and learning new tricks. Available in two main sizes:

The Ethic DTC Erawan V2 Black Stunt Scooter Deck, measuring 4.72" x 19.7", shown from above and side-on, a lightweight aluminium park deck with an integrated headtube and clean cutaway underside.

Ethic Pandora

The Pandora is a touch wider and longer than the Erawan, giving you more foot space and stability without a big weight penalty. It's a brilliant middle-ground deck for riders who want park agility but also dabble in street.

The Ethic DTC Pandora Black Stunt Scooter Deck, 5.1" x 20.5", a wider park-to-street aluminium deck with a minimalist black finish, angular boxed ends and integrated cutouts.

Ethic Lindworm V4

The Lindworm V4 is Ethic's wider, street-leaning deck, running 5.9" to 6.2" widths in longer lengths up to 23.6". The extra width and boxed feel give you a stable platform for grinds, ledges and bigger riders. Stock moves quickly on these, so browse the latest Ethic decks to see current Lindworm sizes and colours.

Ethic Vulcain (12 STD)

The Vulcain range, including the Vulcain Boxed and the newer Vulcain V2, is built around the 12 STD standard for riders who want a dedicated street setup with strong, boxed ends for locking onto rails. Sizes run from 5.1" up to 5.5" wide. As with the Lindworm, availability rotates, so check the Ethic decks collection for what's in stock.

Ethic Bars

Ethic's handlebars follow the same philosophy as the decks: light, strong and clean. Ethic helped popularise lightweight aluminium bars, and their Dryade aluminium bars were among the first the brand produced. The range covers both T-bar and standard shapes to suit different riding styles and compression systems. When choosing bars, the three things that matter most are:

  • Material: aluminium bars are lighter (great for park and spins); steel/chromoly bars are heavier but extremely tough (favoured by street riders).
  • Height and width: bars should sit around waist-to-belly-button height when you're stood on the deck. Too low and you'll feel hunched.
  • Compression compatibility: make sure the bar matches your compression system (SCS, HIC, IHC) and fork. See our compression systems guide if you're unsure.

Ethic Forks

Ethic's fork line is led by the Legion V2, available in HIC, IHC and SCS versions so you can match it to your chosen compression system. Like the rest of the range, the Legion is built to be light yet strong, and it's a popular, well-priced choice for custom builds. Because forks must match your deck, wheels and compression, check fitment carefully before buying. Our scooter forks buying guide explains how the systems differ.

Building a Full Ethic Setup

One of the best things about Ethic is how well the parts work together. If you'd rather not build from scratch, Ethic also make excellent complete scooters. The Erawan V2 complete and the larger Pandora complete both come pre-built with Ethic parts and are superb value. If you are building your own, a typical Ethic combination might be:

The Ethic DTC Erawan V2 Complete Stunt Scooter in Neochrome, a fully built scooter with a T-bar handlebar, holographic neochrome wheel cores, IHC compression and a textured deck, shown against a white background.
  • Park setup: Erawan V2 deck, aluminium bars and a Legion IHC fork for a light, snappy build.
  • All-round setup: Pandora deck, aluminium or chromoly bars and a Legion HIC fork for versatility.
  • Street setup: Lindworm V4 or Vulcain deck, chromoly bars and a Legion SCS fork for a tough, stable ride.

FAQs

Which Ethic deck is best for beginners? The Erawan V2 is the easiest to recommend for most new and improving riders. It's light, forgiving and comes in two sizes. Smaller or younger riders should look at the 19.7" length; taller riders the 21.25".

What's the difference between the Erawan and the Pandora? The Pandora is slightly wider (5.1" vs 4.72") and a touch longer, giving more foot space and stability. The Erawan is narrower and more agile. Both are light; it mostly comes down to your size and whether you prefer nimble (Erawan) or stable (Pandora).

Are Ethic decks good for street? Yes. The Lindworm V4 and Vulcain decks are the street-focused options, with wider platforms and boxed ends for grinds. The Erawan and Pandora lean more park/all-round.

Which Ethic fork do I need, HIC, IHC or SCS? It depends on your bars and compression system. The Legion V2 comes in all three. If you're not sure, our compression systems guide walks through how to tell them apart.

Are Ethic parts compatible with other brands? Largely yes. Ethic uses standard sizing, so their decks, bars and forks mix well with most other scooter brands, provided the compression system and dimensions match.

Is Ethic good value? Ethic deliberately keeps margins lower to make pro-level parts more affordable, so you tend to get excellent performance for the price. It's one reason the brand is so popular with riders building their first custom.
